Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Highlightly website and desktop application. By creating an account, downloading the App, or subscribing to Pro, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Highlightly consists of (a) this website, which handles account creation and billing, and (b) a desktop application you download and run on your own Windows computer, which processes your gameplay clips locally — cropping, blurring, captioning, and exporting vertical video shorts.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission to use Highlightly and to make any purchases.
3. Accounts
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Accounts are managed through Supabase authentication, including optional Google Sign-In. Let us know immediately at rawjanihasan@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- Free plan — no cost, limited to the starter workflow described on the Site.
- Pro plan — a recurring monthly subscription billed through Stripe, with an optional 3-day free trial.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel any time before your next renewal date to avoid being charged again; cancelling stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout.
- All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Prices may change with reasonable advance notice for existing subscribers.
5. Your content
You own the gameplay clips, audio, and footage you process with the App. We claim no ownership over your content. Because clips are processed locally, we never receive your video files. The one exception is captioning: if you configure a Groq API key, the audio portion of a clip is sent to Groq's transcription service solely to generate your captions, and is used for no other purpose by us. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to use and edit any footage, audio, voice recordings, or third-party game content included in your clips.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Highlightly to process or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell the App or Site without our written permission;
- Attempt to bypass licensing checks, subscription paywalls, or usage limits;
- Use the Site or App in a way that disrupts or overloads our infrastructure or that of our providers (Supabase, Stripe, Groq, Google).
7. License to use the App
Subject to these terms and your subscription status, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Highlightly desktop app on your own devices for personal or internal use.
8. Third-party services
Highlightly relies on third-party providers — including Supabase, Stripe, Google, and Groq — to operate. We're not responsible for outages, errors, or policy changes on their end, though we'll do our best to keep the Site and App working around them.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and App are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate (including caption transcription accuracy).
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hasan Raza Rawjani will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site or App. Our total liability for any claim relating to Highlightly is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.
11. Termination
You may stop using Highlightly and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or where required by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are material, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continuing to use Highlightly after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by local consumer protection law where you live.
